Export Terminal Sites

The Brownsville Navigation District has leased sites for LNG terminals to 5 companies for a total of 2834 acres along the Brownsville Ship Channel.  Two companies have decided not to pursue building an LNG facility at the Port of Brownsville. Three companies (Annova, Rio Grande, and Texas LNG) are going through the Federal Energy Regulatory Process (FERC) and have NOT been approved yet. All of the sites are important coastal habitat and adjacent to wildlife refuge lands. The Texas LNG site is less than 2 miles from Port Isabel, Texas.
