Citizens Protest FERC Hearing in Port Isabel

On August 11, residents of communities all over the Valley gathered to submit their comments to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission about three of the proposed LNG eport terminals. FERC's format did not allow for a truly public hearing, so Save RGV from LNG took it upon ourselves to provide a venue otside the official hearing for people to speak their concerns and hear the concerns of others.

It was a very successful event, with neighbors listening to neighbors and learning from our fellow citizens the way a public meeting should be.

If you have not yet told Washington why LNG is a bad idea in the RGV, you can easily do so on our webform here. The most effective comments are personalized and contain details about your specific concerns. You can also download a paper form here and mail it in to FERC. Comments will be accepted until September 4th.
