Cities continue opposition of LNG

As the FERC process nears and end this summer for Texas LNG, Annova LNG, and Rio Grande LNG, the Laguna Madre cities a

re continuing to oppose LNG.

South Padre Island picked back up their cause against LNG and are prepping to take action through FERC and TCEQ. Port Isabel is planning to contest the TCEQ air permit for Texas LNG of which the deadline is April 24. South Padre Island will take action through FERC with sending their resolution opposing LNG, comments regarding economy and environment, and possibly intervening.

Port Isabel and Long Island Village is contesting the air permit for Texas LNG as well.

Port Isabel, and Laguna Vista requested case heating on Rio Grande LNG's TCEQ air permit in late 2018. Port Isabel also submitted a request for reconsideration.

Laguna Vista, Port Isabel, South Padre Island, and Long Island Village all passed resolution opposing LNG in 2015 with Point Isabel ISD denying tax abatements to Rio Grand LNG and Annova LNG.
